Calving at Aguila Glacier. The glaciers in Agostini sound descend from the Darwin Mountain range. Some, like Aguila Glacier, reach all the way to the water. This glacier calved frequently, that is chunks of ice break off the end of the glacier when the forward movement of the glacier makes it unstable. The pieces that break off are "icebergs." Aguila Glacier is advancing while other glaciers in southern Patagonia are stable or receding.
