One dark and uncalmly evening, I met an old man with a grizzled gray beard sitting on a bench as if waiting for Death to come by or whomever wanted an old man, perhaps for a collection of ancient relics for the old man must of been close to a century old.
I myself was more like a young chicken compared to his years of knowledge and wisdom, for he held nothing more than his fading life and all I held was a small bag of oranges that I had recently bought from a fruit stand.
And while trying to mind my own business about to walk by, he said out loud, "Hey there, young fella. What's ya got there? Them look like oranges."
I stopped and nodded, "Yes, would you like one, old man?"
"No, oh no," laughed the old man, "No, young fella, but thanks for offering. Now you hold up an orange there and compare it to the moon out yonder above us. You know an orange and the moon have something in common, ya know what that is?"
"Uh no," I said as I held up an orange in comparison to the moon, trying to think what an orange and the moon had in common. Nothing came to mind, sad to say.
The old man says, "God is in that orange, the seeds in that juicy morsel is his son Jesus. And those vitamins A, B, C, and D in it is like his words in the Bible and every time you suck on an orange you not only get a sweet taste but a whole lot of religion."
"Wow, I never thought about that," I smiled as I held the orange before me in new respect to the round juicy fruit, then suddenly asked, "But what does that have to do with the moon?"
The old man got up from the bench to get on the retirement bus with his roll-away oxygen tank, "The Moon's Heaven, you better take an oxygen tank cause I've got mine."
The End. \ud83c\udf15
