Run the Chrome online web store extension Color NTP using OffiDocs Chromium online.
Makes the new tab page completely blank and allows you to set the background to whatever you want, assuming you have a little knowledge of CSS.Defaults to #393939, but can be customised by opening the extension's options menu.
This has little to no utility for 99% of people, who want functionality in their NTP.
