These four panels of stained glass come from the church of the Franciscan convent at Ormes-et-Ville, near Nancy, capital of Lorraine. Gérard de Haraucourt had founded the convent's chapel in 1472; however it was only built in 1527, soon after which his heir, Hesse de Linange (or Leiningen), marked the occasion with these windows. Husband and wife, Gérard de Haraucourt and Françoise d'Anglure, are shown with their patron saints, Saint Gerard, Abbot of Brogne and Saint Francis of Assisi; the donors, Hesse de Linange and his wife, Madeleine de Grandpré, are represented with their armorials.
