This six-cent stamp was issued as a part of the American Folklore Series in 1968 featuring American pioneer and frontiersman Daniel Boone (1734-1820). The stamp depicts a wood wall with the various tools of a frontiersman on it including a flintlock rifle, a powder horn, a hatchet and a knife. Also depicted is the name "Daniel Boone" carved into the wood with the postage value printed on a piece of paper attached to the wall. Boone was most known for leading setters through the Cumberland Gap into what would later be known as Kentucky and his many stories of the wild frontier made him a legend in American folklore.Free picture Daniel Boone \ integrated with the OffiDocs web apps
