USE OF THE CREATIVE COMMONS IGO LICENSES
Under the WIPO Open Access Policy
The Creative Commons (CC) IGO Licenses enable WIPO to indicate to the users of our publications - in a
flexible and simple manner - under what conditions our online publications may be used.
The CC IGO Licenses suite consists of the following six licenses, each containing different conditions:
1. Creative Commons / Attribution 3.0 IGO
o Attribution (CC BY IGO): the user is allowed to reproduce, distribute, adapt, translate
and publicly perform WIPO publications, even for commercial use, with the condition that
WIPO is credited as being the original source.
2. Creative Commons / Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO
o Attribution Share Alike (CC BY-SA IGO): the user is allowed to reproduce, distribute,
adapt, translate and publicly perform WIPO publications, even for commercial use, with
the condition that WIPO is credited as being the original source and that the re-
distribution of the publication is made under the same conditions as the IGO License.
3. Creative Commons / Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 IGO
o Attribution Non-Commercial (CC BY-NC IGO): the user is allowed to reproduce,
distribute, adapt, translate and publicly perform WIPO publications, by crediting WIPO as
the original source, but without making any commercial use. For any commercial use,
the user is required to ask for the express written permission of WIPO.
4. Creative Commons / Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 IGO
o Attribution No Derivatives (CC BY-ND IGO): the user is allowed to reproduce,
distribute and publicly perform WIPO publications, even for commercial use, by crediting
WIPO as the original source, but without making any modification or translation. For any
modification or translation, the user is required to ask for the express written permission
of WIPO.
5. Creative Commons / Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO
o Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike (CC BY-NC-SA IGO): the user is allowed to
reproduce, distribute, adapt, translate and publicly perform WIPO publications, with the
condition that WIPO is credited as being the original source and that the re-distribution of
the publication is made under the same conditions as the IGO License. However, the
user is required to ask for the express permission of WIPO to use the publication for
commercial purposes.
