Tamil Eelam History: Ethical country that existed from early 1990s till May 2009 had an air force as well. Col. Shankar was a well educated and a commander instrumental for the creation of Tamil Eelam Air Force. He was killed by long range Sri Lankan ambush unit on Sep 26, 2001. Even though thousand years ago Tamils had empires like Cholas, Tamils didn't have any government in their own in modern time. After British left in 1948 and continuous Sri Lanka's genocide, run out of all options, Eelam Tamils democratically mandated to create Tamil Eelam in 1976. Within a decade, Eelam Tamils were able to built their own country because of LTTE and the brave commanders like Col. Shankar.
With the geopolitical nature that's against Tamils, it's extremely difficult to built a country and defend it. However, with top intelligent, brave and dedicated Tamil Tigers, Tamils were not only able to create a country and defend it during the period of 1976 to 2009. they archived the impossible without any foreign country support. When Tamil Tigers were at their peak, they entered peace talks in 2002. The propaganda by the congress party India and genocidal Sri Lanka fooled the west and Europe. After fooling the west and Europe, Sri Lanka sold itself to China and India also got them at their backyard.
In fact, Tamil Eelam government was functioning with most possible ethical values in the world and would be a true ally to west and Europe. Even though war and intermittent peace, Tamils had dignity and freedom during Tamil Tigers time. In the past ten years, there were no LTTE, and Sri Lankan genocide continuous in full force. Sri Lanka constitution said it clearly that the Island belongs to Sinhala Buddhist and no space for Tamils. It's written on the wall. By fully knowing this, USA and Europe took the wrong side with geocidal Sri Lanka. Tamil Tigers ceased to exist on May 18, 2009, however their history will remain in the hearts of minds of Tamils world wide for long future.
