The Gulzar-i abrar was compiled in 998 ah/ 1590 ad.
It was originally written in persian language by shaikh Muhammad Ghauthi bin musa shattari.
Shaikh Muhammad Ghauthi was born on 11 rajab 962/2 june, 1554 ad in Mandu.
In Gulzar-i abrar there is the hagiography of sufi saints from 7th century to the 2nd decade of 11th century till the 1022 ah.
The Gulzar-i abrar contain the detail of more than 600 Sufi \u2019s .
The Gulzar-i abrar is divided into 5 parts ( Chamans ).
The book with the necessary correction was corrected and re write in 1010ah /1602 ad
Munshi alyar khan of ujjain got the manuscript of Gulzar-i abrar and then he gave it to Fazl Ahmad jewari.
And fazl Ahmad jewari started the Urdu translation in 1326 ah /1908 ad and completed it in the same year.
The name Azkar-i abrar was given by Qazi Azizuddin jewari, Qazi
Azizuddin and Fazal ahmed both were the native of jewar district
Bulandsher.
The first edition was published by the name \u201cazkar-i abrar\u201d in 1326 ah / 1908 ad by (Agra: matba`-i mufid-i `amm).
The second edition was published by Islamic book foundation Lahore 1395 ah 1975 ad.
The third edition was published by matba sulatan Aalamgir Urdu bazaar Lahore in 1427 a.h.
The fourth edition was published by daar un-nafa'is in 2006.
The Sindhi translation of gulzar e abar was done by Makhdoom abdul
jabbar siddiqi and it was published by Sindhi Adabi board, jamshoro,
Pakistan in the year 2009.
The manuscript of gulzar-i abrar can be easily found in the libraries in which there are Urdu , Arabic and Persian collections.
