Four kids on their back out not so far from the barn on their family farm with their legs and feet in the air without a simple care in the world, their Papa nearby was feeding chickens. Just four kids, two brothers, two sisters, and a whole lot of chickens getting fed.
With their head to the bed of the earth and their feet to the wide blue sky it was a pleasant day and that wasn't a lie. As clouds rolled by in the deep blue sky, dreams of days gone by filled their wandering eyes.
Joe, the oldest brother says, "I bet my feet can touch the clouds."
Bobby, the younger brother replies, "I bet my feet can touch the atmosphere."
Elizabeth, the oldest sister says, "I bet my feet can touch the moon."
And Sarah, the little sister replies, "I bet my feet can touch heaven."
They look at their little sister with their feet still in the air. Their eyes knowing it all and not knowing what to say.
Sarah looks at them and says, "Because that's where Mama is."
Joe, Bobby, and Elizabeth all say at the same time, "I'm changing my answer."
And they all stuck their feet to heaven in the hope that their beloved Mama would tickle them.
And Papa fed the chickens.
