This is my Study of Henri Matisse’s lithograph BLUE NUDE I. Matisse was born in 1869 in France and studied Law. While living in Paris he became very ill and he began painting after his mother brought him art supplies during his recovery. He did a series of lithographs from cut-outs depicting nude figures in various positions. My Study was done with Soft Pastels on a sheet of 9” X 14” Manila Drawing Paper.
