"Shakespeare's Lost Act"

by: Wes Robert Ward

"Come forth," a voice beckons in the dark, "Behold thy wondrous power of the ancients and let it be known enlightenment is there for the taking."

With candle in hand the Lordship Yorick de Ortega steps forward in the blackest of nights, "Awkward as it sounds, who would thy be? If ye let it be understood thee reasoning? For only Thieves and Robbers plague the night and death awaits at dawn."

The voice in the dark declares, "It is I, the one and only Horatio the Magnificent. The King's court jester and comedian of delight and humble upbringing of the town square."

Yorick asks with dismay, "How ye so magnificent and humble in the pitch of darkness without light to hold when once you came from here to there?"

Horatio says, "Alas, long and dreary tale of long past years have led me to this discord, yet it must be written that Horatio did not slip on the curd of a cur."

"Dog shit?" Yorick laughed with giddyness, "Oh my sorrowful companion of the nightest of nights, how dreadful one shoe must be. Would it be hearsay to reply in what regards to thy mongrel?"

Horatio muttered, "Be not joke of thy tramp for this servant wants to kick for my leather shoe no longer smells of fresh leather, but now feces of a flea ridden bitch."

Yorick nodded, "Aye, thy understands to well these days of yore. Would ye want some soft paper to wipe it off or would thee rather track it home to wife and rub it off on rug or rot?"

Horatio replied, "Thy first shall do. Nay, thy not want to go stink up my abode with chocolate ass candy\u2026."

"What the fu\u2026. Stop!!!" William Shakespeare down below the stage cries waving about throwing his paper scrolls all over, "Stop, stop please!!! Alas, hold thy tongues ye two scoundrels!!! Ye got me reading thy damn play scripts like crazy!!! This is not in MacBeth!!!"
