"The Three Camels"
by: Wes Robert Ward
Once upon a time not so very long ago there was a man from Jerusalem with three Camels. Their names were Alice, Betty, and Carol.
Not very original to say the least but those were the names he had given them. He loved them dearly more than the wives he carried on them. For sure they were just stubborn beasts of burden but they were his burden and a man without Camels in Jerusalem was a poor man indeed.
Even though they were mean Camels they were nicer than the wives. Sure Alice spit on people, and Betty kicked dogs, and Carol pooped anywhere she wanted. They were in their own sense just almost harmless animals most of the time say about when they were asleep.
One day the man lost his first wife to an illness and he had to bury her. Alice the Camel did not weep for her but spit on her grave. Greats gobs of Camel spit slid nastily down her tombstone.
The man said, "Alice that is not very nice, I know she slapped you a few times but she wasn't all that bad."
Alice spit on him too.
One day the man's best friend died, his beloved dog he had for many years. He buried him and put a small wooden cross on his grave. Such the greatest companion of all time was a dog. Betty the Camel didn't think so and kicked the wooden cross down.
The man cried, "Have some respect, Betty. I know he bit your ankles a few times but he was still a faithful companion. My dog is dead don't you care about my feelings?"
Betty did in a way and kicked him in the Jerusalem family jewels.
One day the man's toilet broke in his house and he looked at Carol the Camel. No, he thought she would never do that in his house.
Carol pooped in the livingroom and didn't give a damn what he thought.
Sadly as the man was dying on his death bed years later in his old age he looked up to see his three Camels before him. All he had left in this world was his three Camels. And here they were before him looking down on him as he lay dying.
He coughed, "My beloved Camels you have come to pay your last respects to me. How wonderful, I love you so much my beasts of burden."
Alice spit on him, Betty kicked him, and Carol… well she… well let's just leave it at that. The following day he was buried on the hill with his wives long past.
And the Camels? What became of them you say? They walked away into the arid vast desert doing what they did best.
The End. 🐫🐫🐫
