This extension can duplicate or open a new tab to the right.

Shortcuts -> chrome://extensions/shortcuts Duplicate Tab to the Right * Alt + T * MacOS : ⌥ + T New Tab to the Right * ⚠ This shortcut needs to be set manually, due to the restriction to overwrite default chrome shortcuts * Ctrl + T * MacOS : ⌘ + T
