LILLIE MILLS GRAIN ELEVATORS - FRANKLIN TENNESSEE
This is a "Field Study" that I did of The LILLIE MILLS GRAIN ELEVATORS in Franklin, Tennessee. The Franklin Flouring Mill was established on this site in 1869 and at its peak it produced over 70,000 barrels of Franklin Lady Flour per year. The concrete grain elevators at in my drawing were built around 1926 and could store over 250,000 bushels of grain. The Mill was destroyed in a fire in 1958 but these Grain Elevators survived and they continued to operate for three decades.
