This year, the central government has decided to rename Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti as 'Parakram Diwas' which will be celebrated on January 23.
Of the various freedom fighters who laid their lives for the country's cause, Subhas Chandra Bose is one among people who is fondly remembered by the Indians.
Popularly referred to as 'Netaji', he was born on January 23, 1897. Like Gandhi and lots of others, his aim was simple: to urge India the much-needed independence. Despite his differences with him, it had been the last word goal of freedom that didn't deter him from that path.
One of his main contributions towards an equivalent is to make the 'Azad Hind Fauj' or the Indian National Army, where radical measures were taken to achieve independence for the country.
His death is marred with mystery. However, tons of what he said inspired generations of Indians to return . This year, the central government has decided to rename Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti as 'Parakram Diwas' which will be celebrated on January 23.
