Photos from my last summer at UC Berkeley, and the City of Berkeley.

File names are the date-time that the photos were taken, with colons converted to hyphens for cross-platform compatibility, so the format reads like this: YYYY-MM-DD--HH-MM-SS.

2013-07-19:
My friends Karla and Tim visit to the Triple Rock Brewery, a local brewery and bar in Berkeley. These made for some good "candid" portraits, I think, with a lot of natural gestures.

2013-08-03:
Walking around town at night after a local music festival.

2013-08-16:
With only a few days left before my last classes were over, I started thinking more about taking pictures of the campus itself. These were shot from on top of the roof of McCone Hall, a building on the north side of campus.

The UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley.

2013-08-19:
My very last night in Berkeley, I began feeling a little sentimental, I guess -- I was feeling pre-nostalgic, and I couldn't sleep. So, in spite of the early departure I had in the morning, a little after midnight I walked around campus one last time to take pictures of the buildings.

2013-09-02:
By this time I'd had a little while to settle in with friends and family in San Diego again. I'd taken my camera back out to look back at some of the undeveloped photos from this summer, and while I had it out, I took the opportunity to shoot a few pictures of my brother-in-law Rich with the slits of light lancing into the room through the venetian blinds.
