The temple of Amun at Malqata, the palace city constructed by Amenhotep III, was decorated with blue faience tiles set into plaster that was covered with gold leaf. This reconstructed fragment is a cartouche with the king\u2019s throne name, Nebmaatre. The blue faience tiles in this reconstruction were discovered during the Museum\u2019s excavations at Malqata and were given to the Museum by the Egyptian Antiquities Service in the division of finds.
