Salina Kansas, Postcards

This is a collection of scanned postcard from Salina Kansas. They date from the early 1900's to about 1922. Several of them have the same image, but are titled differently, while others look very similar but have different images. Here is a list of the postcards in partially alphabetical order, but with the buildings, and locations arranged in order before, the oldest card name was used to group the similar images. "High School-Central School", "New High School", are not the same building, but are grouped near each other. The "Grammar School" was very similar to the early, "High School-Central School", so these are grouped near each other. For this reason extra "Gram1" type messages are added to the title to arrange the images in a certain order, when viewed in a folder. The "Government Building", is also called the "Post Office", so it appears after that image. Titles that use the same image, and same title, but are altered, such as having a cleared "Caption" area on the front, and versions where the title is printed on the image itself are labeled 030,1 and 030,2 indicating that they are the same image, with the same title, but different versions.

Currently in this collection there are 94 postcards, 85 of them numbered in the list below. The variations are sub-numbered, within that main number. Each with a scan of its front and reverse. These cards were mainly chosen because they were used, and the dates on the cards also give a hint as to when the photographs were taken. Lastly one of the features many people enjoy, while collecting postcards is, reading the descriptions of someone's life, writing from many years ago. The dates given for the postcards are from the postal cancellation date. Year, Month, and Day.
