Locke, really never knew his parents, he was orphaned off to a religious foster home, lead by a group of white mages. When he was growing up, we was teased, seeing how he had his powers locked away. This gain the attention of the White Wizard, who needed and apprentice at the time. He took the lad in and trained him using the Wizard Rings. Sadly, he was proven a failure and exiled. He was given a room and lessens of healing, from the other White mages and was also set out on adventures with some companions, hunting down monster that was causing troubles along the way.

Later in time, he was given a letter about a school where he could be train more in Magic.

He's shy, nervous, awkward to talk to, and just try to help out with everyone problem. Though, that ma lead them to becoming friends, or distance themselves, ether way its a double edge sword for him.
