Eli in the tire swing outside the chicken coop/kennel. I think maybe 1973 or 4. The swing was hung on one of the 30+ apple trees on Lucky Mud when we bought the place. I think literally every one (and the lone pear tree) bore at least some fruit, some with amazing abundance, and they were at least 80 years old when we showed up. All were heritage varieties, most eating apples that were simply delicious. There were also a few specialty apples, like the pumpkin apple. One was enough for an entire pie. And delicious for pies, but not so much eating.
