Horace in the backyard at our house on Olin St. As you can see, they had a small vegetable garden by this time. There were lots of roses already there when we moved in, and we simply maintained them. It was certainly the first house we lived in that I was vaguely responsible for anything (other than the pigeons and guinea pigs I kept as a young child on Virginia Rd.). I think I actually enjoyed doing the pruning for the few years I lived there.That was a nice house. I remember our next door neighbor (to the left in the picture) had a mature avocado tree and every year gave us/them literally several shopping bags of absolutely delicious Haas avs. That's some of the good stuff!
Oh, it was also in this house's garage that I first met the reefer man. :) Summer, 1965. :)
