The old man stood on the edge of the world. Unfurled in what he saw he stood still deep in thought. What he saw nearly tore him apart.
His old heart beat, beat, beat. Kept beating too. Especially after the fall of civilization and the devastation of Earth.
For what it was worth he knew only this. That he stood on the only dry land left. Not to be deft, a simple crop of ledge on a piece of land that could fall at any moment into the foaming sea.
The sea was nothing more than the sea.
And so he stood and stared at the world before him in horror. And what he saw was sea, nothing more than sea. Drowning screams and no more dreams plagued his aging mind. Nothing kind about it.
Into Poseidon's pit lives forever lost. And at what cost? With the tides came the rain that never went away. Not until this day. With nothing more to say. Time went still and souls swam, all were damned.
Even though beautiful as can be. The sea and nothing else but the sea was here. It began with the sea and ended with the sea.
A hundred years old was he. Tomorrow is his birthday, yippee. No cake, no party\u2026 just sea. Nothing more than sea.
Yet with piece by piece, day by day, land by land\u2026. he fell into the sea.
And nothing more than sea. Nothing more than sea. Nothing more than sea.
What we called Earth was no earth no more. Just a bowl full of water.
Just a bowl full of water.
