The POP Symbols show the Four Human Natures:

The 16 Symbols are archetypes based on the Platonic Solids and an archetypal quaternity that is universally recognized by all human beings, at some level, as a basic cycle reflected in both human nature and Mother Nature. Why have the four human natures or "temperaments" been recognized for over 5000 years? The secret is in the archetypal compass that shapes our perception.

Consider the qualities of the first four numbers:
1-Unity
2-Duality
3-Activity
4-Stability.

They form a quaternity (the union of four in one).

Each quadrant consumes the next in an eternal cycle. The four seasons always flow in the same order. Likewise, water evaporates into air, air combusts into fire, fire condenses on the earth, and earth is eroded by water. The four human natures follow the same cycle.

As far back as 2500 BC, personalities were observed to conform to this basic cycle. The four temperaments have gone under many different names over the last 5000 years.
