Formulas Required

The template uses several formulas to automate data processing:

  • Duration (HH:MM): =TEXT(End Time - Start Time, "h:mm")
    This formula calculates the time difference between Start and End Times. If a task spans midnight, it adjusts accordingly using 24-hour format logic.
  • Total Daily Hours: =SUMIF(Date Column, TODAY(), Duration Column)
    Summarizes total time spent on administrative tasks for the current day across all entries.
  • Category Totals: On the Daily Summary sheet, use SUMIFS to tally hours per category per day.

  • Daily Total Above 8 Hours: If total time in a day exceeds 8 hours, the cell background turns light orange to flag extended work sessions.
  • Repetitive Task Warnings: Uses data validation rules and conditional formatting to highlight repeated task descriptions (e.g., "Answering emails" more than 3 times in one day).

User Instructions

To get started:
