INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER

This template is designed for monthly use. At the start of each month:

  1. Update your Content Calendar with planned projects, expected revenue, and target publish dates.
  2. Add all known expenses to the Expenses Tracker, including subscriptions, software licenses, or outsourced help (e.g., editors or designers).
  3. In the Clients & Invoices tab, mark invoices as “Sent,” “Paid,” or “Overdue.” Use this to populate accurate income in Cash Flow.
  4. Ensure dates match your real payment cycles. Freelancers often experience cash lag — plan accordingly!
  5. Review the Dashboard weekly. If closing balance drops below 30% of monthly expenses, delay non-critical purchases or invoice clients sooner.
