Formulas Required

  • Total Pay ($): In “Payroll Breakdown,” use =SUM([Hrs Worked]*[Hourly Rate]) to auto-calculate compensation.
  • Role & Rate Auto-Population: VLOOKUP in Payroll Breakdown: =VLOOKUP(Creator_ID, TeamRolesRates!A:E, 4, FALSE)
  • Total Budgeted Payroll: In Budget vs Actuals: =SUM(PayrollBreakdown!H:H)
  • Content Cost Per Type: SUMIFS based on Content Type and associated payroll.

Conditional Formatting

  • Hrs Logged > Hrs Estimated: Highlight row in yellow in Content Inventory — signals potential overtime or scope creep.
  • Total Pay > Budgeted Rate for Role: Red fill if payroll exceeds projected cap per role (linked to Budget sheet).
  • Status = “Completed”: Green background to indicate finalized, paid content.

Instructions for the User

  1. Begin by populating the “Team Roles & Rates” sheet with all creators, their roles, and agreed-upon hourly rates.
  2. Add all planned content to “Content Inventory,” assigning each asset a Creator ID.
  3. As work progresses, log actual hours in Content Inventory. Update status when complete.
  4. In “Payroll Breakdown,” input the Creator ID — Excel will auto-fill name, role, and rate via VLOOKUP. Enter hours worked; total pay calculates automatically.
  5. Review “Budget vs Actuals” weekly to ensure payroll spending aligns with content goals. If over budget in a content category (e.g., video), reassess planning priorities.
  6. Use the Dashboards sheet for real-time insights: monitor spend-per-content-type and creator productivity.
