Simple Content Planning Payroll Tracker Excel Template

This Simple Content Planning Payroll Tracker Excel template is a uniquely designed hybrid tool tailored for content creators, marketing teams, and freelance agencies that need to align their content production schedules with accurate payroll tracking. While most payroll systems track hours and salaries in isolation, and content planning tools manage editorial calendars separately — this Simple template unifies both worlds into one intuitive spreadsheet. It ensures that every piece of content produced is directly tied to the compensation earned by the team member responsible, preventing overpayment, underpayment, or misallocation of budget.

Sheet Names

The template contains three carefully designed sheets:

  • Content Calendar: Tracks planned and completed content items with deadlines and assignees.
  • Payroll Ledger: Records hours worked, pay rates, deductions, and net compensation per team member per content item.
  • Dashboards: Visual summary of payroll spend vs. content output metrics.

Step 3: As work progresses, log hours in Payroll Ledger by matching the ID to the content item.
