This Planner Template combines structure with flexibility to ensure consistent, goal-driven content production while enabling visualization of trends and performance over time. Built specifically as an Annual tool, this template spans 12 months in a cohesive calendar format, allowing users to align content themes with seasonal events, product launches, holidays, and business KPIs.

SHEET NAMES

The workbook contains five primary sheets:

  • Resources & Notes — Stores asset links, team assignments, and editable notes.

CONDITIONAL FORMATTING RULES

  • Status Column (Annual Calendar): Red = Delayed, Yellow = In Progress, Green = Published.

  • Owner Column: Color-coded per team member (e.g., blue for Jane, orange for Carlos).
  • Content Type Column: Different background colors for each format (e.g., purple = video, green = blog).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER

  1. Set Your Annual Themes: In the “Content Themes & Goals” sheet, define 3–5 overarching themes for the year and attach KPIs (e.g., “Increase blog traffic by 40%”).
  2. Populate Monthly Publishing Targets: In “Annual Calendar,” input how many posts you aim to publish per month and specify content types.
  3. Fill Out Monthly Planner: For each month, enter your planned content entries. Use dropdowns for consistency.
  4. Assign Owners & Deadlines: Ensure every piece has an owner and due dates to avoid bottlenecks.
  5. Update Performance Tracker Weekly: After publishing, log metrics like clicks, shares, comments, and conversions using the same date reference.
  6. Review Monthly Dashboard: At month-end, use the charts in “Performance Tracker” to assess what worked — then adjust your next month’s plan accordingly.
