- Date (Date): Planned publish date for each piece of content.
- Title (Text): The title or topic of the content item (blog, video, social post, etc.).
- Content Type (Dropdown: Blog/Video/Podcast/Social Media/Email)
- Platform (Text): Where it will be published (e.g., Medium, YouTube, Instagram).
- Purpose (Text): Strategic goal—brand awareness, lead generation, community engagement.
- Estimated Cost ($USD) (Currency): Estimated cost to produce this content (freelancer fees, tools, stock assets).
- Actual Cost ($USD) (Currency): Real expenditure after completion. Auto-updates from Savings Tracker.
- Savings ($) (Formula Column): Calculated as Estimated Cost – Actual Cost.
- Status (Dropdown: Planned/In Progress/Done/Deferred)
- Keywords/Tags (Text): SEO or audience targeting keywords.
This is the financial engine of the template. It tracks spending vs. savings across all content categories:
- Month (Date – first day of month)
- Total Budget Allocated ($USD): Set manually by user per month.
- Total Actual Spent ($USD): Sum of all 'Actual Cost' from Content Calendar for the month.
- Monthly Savings ($USD) (Formula): Total Budget Allocated – Total Actual Spent
- Savings Rate (%) (Formula): Monthly Savings / Total Budget Allocated * 100
- Cumulative Savings ($USD) (Formula): Running total of monthly savings.
- Category Breakdown (Text: Blog, Video, etc.)
- Savings by Category ($USD) (Formula): Sum of all ‘Savings’ column entries from Content Calendar grouped by category.
This sheet allows users to define monthly spending limits per content type:
- Content Type (Text)
- Monthly Budget Limit ($USD): User-defined cap for each category.
- Used So Far ($USD) (Formula): Sum of actual costs from Content Calendar matching this type.
- Remaining Budget ($USD) (Formula): Monthly Budget Limit – Used So Far
- Budget Alert (Text/Icon): “Over Budget” if Remaining < 0, “On Track” otherwise.

Conditional Formatting
- Savings Tracker – Monthly Savings: Green if positive, red if negative.
- Budget Allocation – Remaining Budget: Red fill if < 0, yellow if < 10% of limit, green otherwise.
- Content Calendar – Status: Gray for Deferred, Yellow for In Progress, Green for Done.
- Savings Column: Bold green font if savings exceed 30% of estimated cost (highlighting exceptional efficiency).
User Instructions
- Start by setting your monthly budget in the Budget Allocation sheet and Savings Tracker.

- As you complete each piece of content, update the “Actual Cost” column. The template will automatically calculate savings and update dashboards.
