Formulas Required

  • In Savings Tracker: =E2*F2 for Tax Reserve (Income * Tax %)
  • =E2*H2 for Emergency Fund (Income * Emergency %)
  • =SUM(L:L) to calculate Total Saved per row
  • =SUM($M$2:M3) for Running Total (absolute reference to cumulative sum)
  • In Content Calendar: Conditional formula in Paid Value column triggers if Status = "Published" — helps auto-calculate monthly earnings from successful content.

Conditional Formatting

  • Content Calendar: Red highlight if “Status” is “To-Do” and Date Scheduled is past today. Green if Published.
  • Savings Tracker: Yellow fill when Running Total Saved falls below 50% of your annual goal. Green fill when over 90% achieved.
  • Dashboards: Traffic-light indicators (Red/Yellow/Green) for savings progress bars and content completion rate.

Instructions for the User

  1. Start by setting your annual savings goals in the Dashboard sheet: e.g., Emergency Fund = $5,000; Retirement = $8,000.
  2. In Content Calendar, log every piece of content you plan to produce. Fill in Date Scheduled and Platform first.
  3. When content is published and paid, enter the Paid Value ($). This links your creative output directly to income.
  4. Each time you receive payment, go to Savings Tracker > add new row > enter Income Source and Total Income. The reserves auto-calculate based on your preset percentages.
  5. Update Status in Content Calendar when a piece is complete — this triggers automatic updates in Dashboard charts.
  6. Review the Dashboards weekly: Are you publishing enough content to meet your savings targets? Adjust content volume or income goals as needed.

Example Rows

Content Calendar:
2024-06-15 | “10 SEO Tips for Freelancers” | Blog | Article | Published | Personal Branding | 85.00 USD | 3.5 hrs | #SEO #Freelancer

Recommended Charts or Dashboards

  • Pie Chart: Distribution of savings allocation (Tax, Emergency, Retirement, Project).
  • Line Graph: Monthly “Running Total Saved” vs. Annual Goal.
  • Bar Chart: Income per Content Type — shows which formats generate most revenue.
  • Gauge Meter: Progress toward each savings goal (e.g., 72% to Emergency Fund target).
  • KPI Summary Box: “Content Published This Month: 8 | Total Income: $1,420 | Total Saved: $650” — visible at top of Dashboard.
