Formulas Required

  • Status → Completed? Column: Formula: =IF([@[Status]]="Completed", TRUE, FALSE)
  • Total Time Planned: Formula: =SUM([Time Estimate (hrs)]) placed in the footer.
  • Task Count by Status: Use COUNTIF functions on a summary table to count “Completed”, “In Progress”, etc.
  • Date Validation: Data validation rule: Date between today and 90 days ahead (to avoid unrealistic planning).
  • Auto-Numbering: Column A: =ROW()-1 to generate sequential task IDs (ignoring header).

Conditional Formatting

To enhance usability and visual scanning:

  • PRIORITY: High = Red background, Medium = Yellow, Low = Green.
  • STATUS: Completed rows fade to light gray; In Progress gets a soft blue border.
  • DUE DATES: If the date is today or past and status is not “Completed”, row turns orange with bold text (urgent alert).
