The template uses several Excel formulas for automation and accuracy:- Week Ending Date:
=A2+7-1(if A2 contains the start date of the week). - Budgeted vs Actual:
=IFERROR((G2 / VLOOKUP(D2, 'Expense Categories & Allocation'!$A$2:$B$10, 2, FALSE)) * 100, 0)
Calculates percentage of budget used for each category. Uses data from the Expense Categories sheet. - Running Balance:
=IF(ROW()=2, IF(F2-G2 > 0, F2-G2, 0), H1 + F2 - G2)
Ensures balance carries forward correctly from previous week. - Weekly Total Expenses:
=SUMIF(D:D, "Books", G:G)(Use in summary section for category-specific totals.)
