• Tracker Sheet:

• Dashboard Sheet:

CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

• Cells with milestone due dates within 7 days: Red fill with white text (urgent).
• Status column “Overdue”: Light red background.
• Status column “In Progress”: Yellow background.
• “% Filled” cells below 50%: Orange highlight; between 50%–75%: Yellow; above 75%: Green.
• Missing savings amounts (blank): Light grey fill to indicate incomplete data.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER

1. Open the template and save it as a new file (e.g., “Family_Education_Planning_2025.xlsx”).
2. Go to the “Tracker” sheet. Enter each child’s name in column A.
3. Complete all relevant details: grade level, school, milestone, due date, cost estimate, and current savings.
4. Navigate to “Budget” sheet. Add categories (e.g., College Tuition) and set target amounts. Input actual savings as they accumulate.
5. The “Dashboard” sheet updates automatically based on data input from the other two sheets—review progress monthly.
6. Use conditional formatting to quickly identify urgent tasks or underfunded goals.
7. Print or export the dashboard for family meetings to align on education goals and financial contributions.
