Formulas Required

The template uses several formulas to maintain automation and consistency:

  • Auto-increment Task ID: =IF(A2="", "T"&TEXT(COUNTA(A:A),"000"), A2) (Assumes column A is Task ID).
  • Status Color Indicator: Uses conditional formatting with formulas like =B2="Overdue".
  • Days Until Due: =IF(DUE_DATE.
  • Employee Name from Database: Uses VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP to pull department and role based on Employee ID.
  • Duplicate Task Check: Uses a formula in a helper column: =COUNTIFS(A:A, A2, B:B, B2) > 1 to flag duplicates.

Conditional Formatting

To enhance visual planning and rapid task identification:

  • Overdue Tasks: Red fill with white text for tasks where Due Date is before today.
  • Due Today: Yellow fill to highlight urgent actions.
  • High Priority Tasks: Orange background with bold font.
  • Status Color Coding: Green (Completed), Blue (In Progress), Gray (Not Started).
  • Dates in Gantt Chart View: Conditional formatting based on date ranges for visual progress bars.
