Formulas Required

  • IF/AND/OR Logic: For conditional formatting rules and status indicators (e.g., emergency fund alerts).
  • FV (Future Value): In Growth Projections sheet to model compound interest over time: =FV(rate, nper, pmt, pv)
  • ROUND: To limit decimal places for currency values.

Conditional Formatting

  • Variance column: Red background if negative (under budget), green if positive (over budget).
  • Savings Rate: Green if >15%, yellow if 10–15%, red if <10%.
  • Emergency Fund Status: Green (≥$5K), Yellow ($2K–$4.9K), Red (<$2K).
  • Projected Growth Rate: Blue for high growth (>8%), amber for moderate (4–7%), red for low (<3%).

Instructions for the User

  1. Open the template and go to the Settings & Templates sheet.
