  5. Settings & Instructions: User guidance with customizable parameters such as default dates, reward thresholds, and display preferences.

TABLE STRUCTURES AND COLUMNS

Habit Tracker (Invoice Ledger)

This sheet functions like a financial invoice but tracks personal habit activities. It includes the following columns:

Invoice No. Date Habit Name Category Frequency Target (per week) Completed (Yes/No) Duration (mins) Reward Earned (points)

Data Types:

  • Invoice No.: Text/Number (Auto-generated using a formula based on date and incrementing counter)
  • Date: Date (Dropdown or calendar picker recommended)
  • Habit Name: Text (Pulls from Habit Library via data validation list)
  • Category: Text (e.g., Fitness, Mental Health, Productivity, Learning)
  • Frequency Target (per week): Number (Integer: 1–7)
  • Completed (Yes/No): Boolean/Text (Data validation with "Yes" or "No")
  • Duration (mins): Number
  • Reward Earned (points): Number

FORMULAS REQUIRED

This template uses advanced Excel formulas to automate tracking and generate insights:

  • Auto Invoice No.: =TEXT(TODAY(),"YYYYMMDD")&"-00"&COUNTA(A:A)+1
  • Daily Streak Counter (per habit): Uses a dynamic formula with INDEX/MATCH to calculate consecutive "Yes" entries.
  • Weekly Completion Rate: =IF(COUNTIFS(HabitTracker[Date],">="&B1, HabitTracker[Date],"<= "&B1+6, HabitTracker[Completed],"Yes") / COUNTIFS(HabitTracker[Date],">="&B1, HabitTracker[Date],"<= "&B1+6), 0) (applies to each habit category).
  • Total Points Earned: =SUMIF(HabitTracker[Reward Earned],">0")
  • Status Flag (Green/Yellow/Red): Conditional formatting triggers based on performance thresholds.

CONDITIONAL FORMATTING RULES

  • Habit Completion: If "Completed" is "Yes", highlight the row in light green. If "No", apply red shading.
  • Streak Tracking: Use color scales to represent streak length (e.g., 1–3 days = yellow, 4–7 = green, >7 = dark green).
  • Weekly Targets Met: If weekly completion rate ≥ 80%, highlight the cell in green. Below 50% → red.
  • Reward Thresholds: When points exceed predefined thresholds (e.g., 100, 250), trigger a "Reward Unlocked!" message.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER

  1. Setup: Open the template. Go to Settings & Instructions. Set your default start date and reward points system.
  2. Add Habits: Navigate to Habit Library. Enter new habits with category, target frequency (e.g., "Read 30 mins/day = 5x/week"). Save for use in the tracker.
  3. Track Daily: In Habit Tracker, select a habit from the dropdown. Enter the date and mark "Yes" or "No". Fill in duration and reward points (e.g., +10 for completing a workout).
  4. Review Weekly: Use the Monthly Summary Dashboard to visualize consistency trends. Compare habits across time periods.
  5. Rewards: When cumulative points hit thresholds, redeem virtual or real rewards (e.g., "100 pts = 30-min massage"). Log these in the tracker.
  6. Export Data: Use Excel's "Save As" to export summary charts to PDF for sharing with accountability partners or coaches.
