=D2+E2(where D = Inflow, E = Outflow – entered as negative value) - Cumulative CF:
=SUM($F$2:F2)– absolute reference to lock the start cell. - ROI (%):
=IF(G2<>0, G2/SUMIF($B:$B,B2,$E:$E)*100, 0) - Payback Period: Uses a complex but automated formula based on inverse of average daily inflow relative to cumulative outflow:
=IF(G2<0,"N/A",ROUND((SUM($E$2:E2)/AVERAGE(D2:D13)*30),0)) - Monthly Totals Row: A summary row below data uses
SUM()for inflows, outflows, and net cash flows to provide a quick overall view.

Instructions for the User
How to Use This Template:
- Open the “Input Assumptions” sheet and enter your marketing budget allocations, expected conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and customer lifetime value (LTV). These auto-populate inflow projections in the Summary Sheet.
- Under “Campaign Name”, list each campaign within your Marketing Plan. Use consistent naming conventions.
- Enter actual or projected Cash Inflows from tracked sales attributed to campaigns (do not guess – use CRM or Google Analytics data).
- In “Cash Outflow”, input ALL marketing-related expenses as NEGATIVE numbers (e.g., -5000 for $5k ad spend). Use the dropdown for “Type” to categorize.
- Review the dashboard tab. The charts update automatically. If cumulative cash flow turns positive before month 6, your Marketing Plan is financially sustainable.
- Do NOT edit formulas or column headers. To reset, make a copy of the template file and re-enter data.
