Freelancer Marketing Plan Chore Chart Excel Template
This unique Excel template is designed specifically for freelancers who need a structured, visual, and highly actionable way to manage their marketing plan. Unlike traditional marketing dashboards, this template adopts the intuitive framework of a Chore Chart, transforming routine marketing tasks into daily/weekly responsibilities—just like household chores—to ensure consistency, accountability, and progress tracking. This blend of productivity psychology and strategic planning empowers solo entrepreneurs to turn chaotic marketing efforts into a predictable, sustainable system.
Sheet Names
Weekly Chore Map – The central dashboard showing all tasks assigned per day of the week.
Marketing Goals – Lists quarterly and monthly objectives with KPIs.
Tasks & Deadlines – Detailed list of all marketing activities with due dates and priority levels.
Calendar View – A visual calendar linking tasks to specific dates with color-coded status.

=IF(E2="✅", RAND()*1.5, "")
The table above is repeated for each day (Monday–Sunday). Each row represents a single marketing chore. The “Status” column uses checkboxes (via Data Validation) to mark completion.
In “Weekly Chore Map,” cell F2 uses: =IF(E2="✅", RANDBETWEEN(30,90)/60, "") to auto-calculate time spent in hours only if task is checked.
In “Marketing Goals,” column F uses: =D2/E2*100% to compute progress percentage toward goals.
In “Performance Tracker,” a pivot table calculates average engagement rate per platform using: =SUMIFS(Engagement, Platform, "Instagram") / SUMIFS(Followers, Platform, "Instagram").
In “Calendar View,” conditional formulas change cell color based on deadline proximity: =AND(TODAY()+3 >= C2, C2 >= TODAY()) highlights tasks due in 3 days or less.
Conditional Formatting
Priority Levels: Red (5), Orange (4), Yellow (3), Green (1-2)
Status Column: Green for ✅, Gray for ☐
Deadline Proximity: Tasks due today = red background; due in 3 days = orange.
Open the “Marketing Goals” sheet and set your quarterly targets (e.g., 1,000 new leads, 15% email open rate).
In “Tasks & Deadlines,” populate all upcoming marketing activities with categories and due dates.
Each Monday, copy tasks from “Tasks & Deadlines” into the appropriate day on “Weekly Chore Map.”
Check off chores as completed (click the checkbox).
Log time spent in column F—this helps you track billable hours.
Update “Performance Tracker” weekly with metrics from Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.
Review “Calendar View” daily to avoid task overload or missed deadlines.
Pro Tip: Treat this like a fitness tracker—your marketing habits are your workouts. Consistency beats intensity. Even small tasks completed daily compound into massive growth.
