Marketing Plan Loan Calculator – Personal Use Excel Template

This comprehensive Excel template is designed for personal use individuals who are launching or funding a small-scale marketing campaign and need to calculate the financial feasibility of borrowing capital to execute their Marketing Plan. While traditional loan calculators focus solely on mortgage, auto, or personal loans, this innovative template integrates marketing-specific metrics — such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), return on ad spend (ROAS), and projected revenue growth — directly into a dynamic loan repayment model. This unique fusion allows users to determine not just whether they can afford the loan payments, but whether their marketing strategy will generate sufficient returns to justify the debt.

Sheet Structure

The template comprises four integrated sheets:

  • Loan Details – Input parameters for the loan itself.
  • Marketing Plan Projections – Forecasted marketing activities and financial outcomes.
  • Cash Flow & Repayment Analysis – Combines loan payments with marketing revenue to show net cash flow.
  • Dashboard – Visual summary with charts and KPI indicators for quick decision-making.

  • Loan Payment Due (Number): Pulls monthly payment from “Loan Details.”
  • Net Cash Flow: = Marketing Revenue - Loan Payment Due.
  • Cumulative Net Balance: Running total of net cash flow.

Formulas Required

  • =PMT(B2/12, B3*12, -B1) — Calculates monthly loan payment (Loan Details).
  • =SUMIF(MarketingPlan!A:A, "Facebook Ads", MarketingPlan!F:F) — Aggregates revenue by channel.
  • =IF(CashFlow!G2 > 0, "Profit", IF(CashFlow!G2 = 0, "Break-even", "Loss")) — Determines monthly financial status.

User Instructions

  1. Enter your loan amount, interest rate, and term in the Loan Details sheet. The template auto-calculates monthly payments.
  2. In Marketing Plan Projections, input your marketing channel budgets and estimated performance metrics (conversion rates, revenue per customer).
  3. Observe how revenue projections adjust automatically based on inputs.
  4. Check the Dashboard for visual indicators: if your LTV:CAC ratio is above 3:1 and net cash flow turns positive within 6 months, your plan is financially sustainable.
  5. If cash flow remains negative after 12 months, consider reducing budget per channel or increasing prices/revenue per customer.
