  • Warranty Expires: =Purchase Date + (Warranty Period (mo)*30.44)
  • Current Value ($): For Straight-line: =Cost - ((TODAY() - Purchase Date)/365) * (Cost / Useful Life Years)
  • Next Due Date: =Maintenance Date + 90 (or other interval based on type)
  • Status Indicator: Uses IF to change color if Warranty Expires < TODAY() or Status = "In Repair"
  • Total Investment Value: Sum of all Current Values for dashboard KPI.

CONDITIONAL FORMATTING RULES

  • Red text on Warranty Expires if within 30 days
  • Yellow background on Status = "In Repair"
  • Green highlight if Maintenance Due Date is more than 6 months away
  • Red highlight if Current Value < 10% of original Cost (retirement flag)

  4. Update the “Settings” sheet to define depreciation useful life (e.g., 5 years for microscopes).
  5. Review the “Dashboards” tab weekly. Use it to identify aging equipment, underutilized assets, or overdue maintenance.
