Table Structures & Columns

Income Sources Table:

All date columns use Excel’s Date format. Amounts are Currency (USD or local currency). Source Type uses Data Validation dropdowns to ensure consistency.

Conditional Formatting Rules

• Red fill (Family Expenses): If Actual > 110% of Budgeted amount.
• Yellow fill (Research Expenses): If expense is paid personally but reimbursable by grant (flags for reimbursement request).
• Green highlight: Savings Rate above 20%.
• Purple border: Grant expenses nearing 90% of allocated budget.

User Instructions

To use this template effectively, employees must update entries weekly. Always select the correct source type and payment category (Personal/Research). If you pay for a research cost out-of-pocket with intent to seek reimbursement, tag it as “Personal” and note “Reimbursement Pending.” The dashboard will flag these items.
