Formulas Required
- =TEXT(TODAY(),"YYYY-MM") – Automatically populates month-based ID prefix for new entries.
- =COUNTIFS(ResearchOrders[Status],"Delivered")/COUNTA(ResearchOrders[Status]) – Calculates % of orders delivered (used in Dashboard).
- =AVERAGEIF(ResearchOrders[Status],"Delivered",ResearchOrders[Data Quality Score]) – Computes average quality score for completed research.
- =SUMIFS(ResearchOrders[Budget Approved ($)], ResearchOrders[Status], "In Progress") – Tracks current spend in progress (Dashboard KPI).
- =VLOOKUP([@Vendor Name], Vendors!$A$2:$E$100, 3, FALSE) – Auto-fills vendor contact and rating from the Vendors sheet.
Conditional Formatting
- Status = "Delayed": Red background with bold text.
- Data Quality Score ≤ 3: Orange fill to flag subpar deliverables.
- Delivery Date passed & Deliverable Received? = "No": Pulse animation (via macro-assisted conditional formatting using VBA optional).
- Budget Approved > $5,000: Gold border to highlight high-value research requests.
Instructions for the User
This template is optimized for startups without dedicated project management systems. To use:
- Update the Vendors sheet with your preferred research partners and their ratings.
- In the Order Log, fill in new orders using dropdowns where available—avoid manual typing to reduce errors.
- Update “Status” and “Deliverable Received?” daily. Use the Status Dashboard for team syncs.
- When an order is closed, drag it to the History Archive sheet monthly (manually or via Power Query).
- No formulas should be modified. If you need customization, duplicate the sheet first.
