Formulas Required

  • Week End Date (Column B): =A2+6 (automatically calculates end of week)

Conditional Formatting Rules

  • Status Column: Red if “Delayed”, Green if “Completed”, Yellow if “In Progress”.
  • Hours Logged: Highlight in orange if >40 hours/week (overload alert).
  • Milestones: Turn cell red 3 days before deadline if status ≠ Completed.
  • Risk Log: Apply bold + red fill for “Critical Risk” items.

Instructions for the User

  1. Initialize Project: In the Settings sheet, define your research phases, team roles, and project IDs. Copy these into new projects as needed.
  2. Weekly Entry: Every Monday, update the Week Start Date. Populate Task Description, assign team members via dropdowns only.

  4. Milestone Tracking: Add all project milestones in Milestones & Deliverables sheet with target dates. The Dashboard will auto-update progress.
  5. Resource Management: Enter estimated hours per person in Resource Allocation at project kickoff. Actuals are pulled automatically from Weekly Timeline.
  6. Risk Reporting: Log any delays, equipment failures, or IRB issues immediately in Risk Log. The template auto-colors critical risks.
  7. Review Dashboards: At each Friday team meeting, refer to the Dashboard sheet for visual summaries of progress and bottlenecks.
