Formulas Required

The following formulas are implemented across sheets for automation:

• Total Amount (Invoice Details): =SUMIF(Description of Service/Item range, "<>", Total Line Item range)
• Tax Amount: =Quantity * Unit Price * Tax Rate
• Subtotal: =SUM(Total Line Item column)
• Grand Total (Invoice Details): =Subtotal + SUM(Tax Amount column)
• Forecasted Sales (Sales Forecast Sheet): Uses exponential smoothing or linear regression formulas based on 12 months of historical data. Example: =FORECAST.LINEAR(MONTH, Known_Ys, Known_Xs)
• Forecast Accuracy: =IF(Forecasted_Sales > Actual_Sales, "Over", IF(Forecasted_Sales = Actual_Sales, "On Target", "Under"))
• Status Indicator (Conditional): Auto-updates based on Due Date vs Current Date.

Conditional Formatting

• Rows with overdue payments turn red background if Due Date < Today().
• Pending invoices are highlighted in yellow.
• Sales Forecast cells change color based on variance: green for over-forecast, red for under-forecast.
• High-value line items (e.g., > $5,000) are marked with bold text and blue border.

Instructions for the User

1. Fill in Client Details: Enter client name, address, and contact info on the Invoice Details sheet.
2. Add Line Items: Input product/service descriptions, quantities, unit prices, and tax rates.
3. Generate Invoice Number: Use the built-in auto-numbering feature (starts from 1000).
4. Review Totals: The template automatically calculates subtotals and grand totals.
5. Update Forecast Sheet: Transfer completed invoice data to the Historical Data sheet for forecasting accuracy.
6. Cycle Forecasting Monthly: At month-end, review forecast accuracy on the Dashboard Overview.
