Note: Each new week starts on a Monday, and the template automatically generates dates based on weekly increments.

Columns and Data Types

  • Week Start Date: Date type (formatted as "ddd, mmm dd, yyyy"). Ensures precise weekly tracking.
  • Product/Service Line: Text/string. Identifies the specific item or category being forecasted.
  • Projected Units Sold: Number (integer). User inputs expected volume of sales per product weekly.
  • Average Selling Price (USD): Currency format ($0.00). Used for revenue calculation and financial modeling.
  • Forecasted Revenue (USD): Currency format. Calculated automatically using formula: =Units Sold * Average Selling Price.
  • Sales Growth Rate (%): Percentage format. Formula calculates sequential percentage change between weeks.

Formulas Required

The template uses dynamic formulas for automatic calculations:

  • =C2*D2: Calculates forecasted revenue per line item.
  • =(C3-C2)/C2: Computes week-over-week sales growth rate (applies only from Week 2 onwards).
  • =SUMIF(E:E, "Product A", F:F): Aggregates total weekly revenue by product line.
  • =SUM(F:F): Calculates total weekly forecasted revenue across all products.

Conditional Formatting

To enhance data visibility and highlight key insights:

  • Sales Growth Rate:
    • Green fill for values > 5% (positive momentum).
    • Yellow fill for 0% to 5% (stable performance).
    • Red fill for negative growth (< 0%) – indicates potential decline.
  • Forecasted Revenue:
    • Gradient scale from light blue (low revenue) to dark blue (high revenue).
    • Top 20% of weekly revenues highlighted in bold and darker shade.
  • Loan Payment Due: In the Loan Calculator sheet, future payments due within the next 7 days are flagged with a red border.

User Instructions

1. Open the template and navigate to the Sales Forecast (Weekly) sheet.
2. Enter your product/service lines in column B.
3. Input projected units sold weekly in column C starting from row 2.
4. Enter average selling prices in column D – these can be updated monthly based on pricing strategy.
5. The template auto-calculates revenue and growth rate using formulas (columns E & F).
6. Switch to the Loan Calculator sheet to enter loan details: principal amount, annual interest rate, term in months, and first payment date.
7. The system calculates weekly payment amounts and compares them against projected weekly sales revenue to assess affordability.
8. Use the Forecast Overview dashboard for a high-level view of performance trends and financial health.
