CONDITIONAL FORMATTING RULES

• Warranty Expiry: Highlight cells red if warranty expires within 30 days.

• Maintenance Due: Apply a yellow background to any row where "Next Maintenance Due" is within 7 days.
• Asset Value Risk: Flag assets with Current Value less than 30% of original cost in orange for potential replacement consideration.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER (Personal Startup Founder)

1. Open the Excel file and enable editing if prompted.
2. Navigate to the Asset List sheet and begin adding your startup’s assets starting from row 2 (header is in row 1).
3. Use the dropdown menus for Category, Status, and Type to ensure consistency.
4. Purchase Date must be entered using the date picker; avoid typing dates manually to prevent errors.
5. Once an asset is added, go to the Depreciation Tracker sheet and link it by copying the Asset ID into the "Asset ID (Link)" column.
6. The template automatically calculates depreciation based on your input. For software licenses, use a 5-year life; for hardware like laptops, use 3 years.
7. Update the Maintenance Schedule sheet after every service or repair to maintain a reliable future plan.
8. To generate insights: Use the summary charts on the Assets Overview tab, which update in real-time as you input data.
9. This template is intended for personal use—no commercial redistribution allowed. You may customize colors, layout, and fields to suit your startup’s needs.
