Formulas Required

The template uses a combination of Excel formulas to ensure automation and accuracy:
  • Auto-increment Task ID: In Study Tracker, use =TEXT(ROW()-1,"000") in the first cell and fill down.
  • Gross Pay Calculation: In Payroll Log: =IF(Overtime="Yes", Hours*Rate*Overtime_Multiplier, Hours*Rate)
  • Daily Study Sum: On Dashboard, use: =SUMIF(StudyTracker!B:B, A2, StudyTracker!F:F) (where A2 is the date)
  • Net Pay: =GrossPay - (GrossPay * TaxWithheld%)
  • Total Tasks Completed Today: =COUNTIFS(StudyTracker!D:D, A2, StudyTracker!F:F, "Completed")
  • Dynamic Date Filters: Use SUMIFS and COUNTIFS with date ranges for monthly/weekly reports.

Conditional Formatting Rules (Tracking View)

To enhance usability and visual tracking:
  • Overdue Assignments: Highlight red if Due Date < TODAY() and Status ≠ Completed.
  • Prioritized Tasks: Apply yellow background to rows with Priority = "High" or "Critical".
  • Overtime Flag: Green highlight for Overtime? = "Yes".
  • Daily Productivity Score: Use color scales in Dashboard:
    • Green: >6 hours total (work + study)
    • Yellow: 4–6 hours
    • Red: <4 hours
  • Mood Rating: Conditional color scale from red (1) to green (5).
