  • Remaining Balance: =Total Budget - Total Spent
  • Trip Completion %: =COUNTA(Itinerary!A:A)/COUNTIF(Itinerary!A:A,"<>") * 100 (dynamic formula)

Formulas Required

  • =SUMIFS(Budget Tracker!D:D, Budget Tracker!A:A, "Transport") — To sum all transport expenses dynamically.
  • =IF(D2>C2,"Over","Under") — Conditional label for budget status per category.
  • =DATEDIF(TODAY(), MIN(Itinerary!A:A), "d") — Days until trip start (for reminder).
  • =COUNTIFS(Itinerary!B:B, "Paris") — Counts days spent in a specific location.
  • =VLOOKUP(A2, AccommodationTable, 2, FALSE) — To auto-populate estimated nightly rates from a hidden reference table.

Conditional Formatting

  • Budget Tracker: If difference > 0 (overspent), cell turns red. If difference < -50, turn yellow as warning.
  • Itinerary: Dates in the past are grayed out; today’s date is highlighted in light blue.
  • Dashboards: Remaining Balance below 10% of total budget triggers red text and icon (e.g., !).
