Formulas and Automation
The template leverages several Excel functions for automation:

- SUMIFS() — Calculates total daily meal costs based on date and city.
- IF() + AND() — Determines budget status: “=IF([Actual] > [Budgeted],”Over Budget”, IF([Actual] < [Budgeted]*0.8,”Under Budget”,”On Track”))”
- COUNTIFS() — Counts the number of meals per nutritional category (e.g., “High Protein”) for dietary reporting.
- NETWORKDAYS() — Calculates workdays spent traveling for expense allocation analysis.
Conditional Formatting
To enhance usability:
- Meal Cost Column: Red fill if cost > $40 (luxury threshold), yellow if $30–$40, green if ≤$25 (budget-friendly).
- Calories Column: Orange highlight if below 300 per meal for meals excluding snacks; green if above 550 for dinner.
- Budget Tracker: Red font and border for “Over Budget” entries; green for “Under Budget.”
