Abstract
The rapid urbanization and infrastructural development in Kathmandu, Nepal, present unique challenges for the construction and engineering sectors. This article examines the critical role of the Project Manager (PM) in navigating these complexities. Drawing upon recent case studies from major infrastructure projects in Nepal's capital city, this paper analyzes how traditional project management methodologies must be adapted to local socio-economic, geological, and bureaucratic contexts. The findings suggest that while technical competency remains essential for a Project Manager, the ability to manage stakeholder relationships, mitigate regulatory risks specific to Nepal Kathmandu is equally vital. The study concludes with recommendations for enhancing PM training programs in South Asia.
